How does artificial intelligence affect the education system in Ukraine and the world?

“We had an extremely interesting conversation with Valeria Shyrokova on Radio Kultura about how AI is irreversibly changing education.
This summer, the Law on Academic Integrity came into force in Ukraine, which introduced the concept of dishonest use of AI for the first time. However, we found ourselves in a kind of paradox: the state simultaneously requires students not to hide the use of algorithms and recommends looking for errors in machine-generated texts.
It was about this fine line between the help of technology and outright fraud that we talked about on the air.
We did not look for simple answers, but analyzed real Ukrainian and global cases. We discussed why 97% of schoolchildren are already using generative AI, but often do not talk about it, and how 60% of teachers ended up in the same boat with them of technological unpreparedness.
We also talked about the massive failure of an online exam at one of the largest universities in Latin America, where almost 160 thousand applicants were tested under the supervision of algorithms.
AI is already changing education - the only question is how exactly we will learn to use these changes.
