Honoring the memory of the fallen

Honoring the memory of the fallen

May 8. Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II.

Today we bow our heads at the memorial to the students, teachers, and employees of KhAI, whose lives were taken by that war.

Here are the names of those who died at the front, died of wounds, did not survive the occupation, and were executed by the Nazis.

“Never again”…

Once it sounded like a promise of humanity.

Today — like pain.

As a reminder of the terrible price that Ukraine is once again paying for the right to live under a peaceful sky.

Incredibly high. A terrible price.

Today, the university administration, representatives of KhAI faculties and departments, and the student community honored the memory of the fallen, laid flowers at the memorial, and remembered veterans and all those who were taken by war.

And between generations — a terrible bridge of history. 200 meters… That is the distance between the two memorials now.

From those who fought against Nazism in the 20th century.

To those who hold the sky over Ukraine today.

Eternal memory to all those who were taken by war.

And eternal respect to those who fight for the life of Ukraine today.
