On the anniversary of KhAI, our long-time colleagues and partners from "Pivdenne" Design Bureau - representatives of the legendary Dnipro school of rocketry - visited the university.
Since the 1940s, when KhAI began training specialists in rocket technology, university graduates have held leading positions among Dnipro engineers and designers, forming the intellectual core of the industry and working on the creation of advanced rocket and space systems.
Years of full-scale war affected ties and interaction, but today KhAI and "Pivdenne" Design Bureau are restoring historical contacts and opening a new page of cooperation.
The oldest aerospace school in the country and the flagship of Ukrainian rocketry met today in a new safe space - to once again talk about the future, about development and about the sky, which for them is not just space, but a calling.
The following visited KhAI:
- Chief Designer for Scientific and Experimental Works and Research Production Igor Derevyanko;
- Deputy Head of the Department of Physical Methods of Control of Materials and Coatings with Special Properties Olga Romenska;
- Head of the Laboratory of Non-Destructive Control Natalia Subach;
- Head of the Complex of New Non-Metallic Materials and Promising Technologies Serhiy Podolsky.
And it is very symbolic that the first meeting in the Open SKY conference hall — almost 10 minutes after the official opening of the new location — took place precisely with those who live by the sky: for whom it is not only a sphere of activity, but also the meaning of work, a source of inspiration and a part of life.
Acting Rector Oleksii Litvinov presented the guests with memorable gifts from the university and invited them to the celebration of KhAI Day — where they always gladly receive dear friends and partners.
