The last decade of March marks several important environmental dates: World Forest Day (March 21), World Water Day (March 22), World Meteorological Day (March 23), and the global Earth Hour campaign (March 28). It was on this occasion that in the last days of March, teachers and staff of the Department of Ecology and Technogenic Safety of KhAI (106), together with students of the Ecology specialty, went out to green the university territory.
Back in 2023, when KhAI received trees as volunteer assistance, students and teachers, planting them, said a simple but very accurate phrase: "At the beginning of the war, trees covered us. Now we are paying our debt."
Since then, it has become a tradition. Living. Real. One that grows with each new seedling.
This time, a special tree was chosen - an oak.
The oak grows slowly but surely. It lives for centuries. Survives storms, droughts and wars.
In Ukrainian culture, it has long become a symbol of strength, endurance and longevity - a tree that does not break, but holds the earth.
The idea of planting an oak alley belongs to a student of group 119, Taisiya BIRZUL - and this initiative was supported by the university administration.
We sincerely thank the employees of the "green workshop" of KhAI, the head of the university's Student Council, Maksym KALASHNIKOV, as well as the public organization "Stardub" for their help in organizing the event and providing planting material.
An oak alley has been laid today on a site that once burned under enemy shelling and was destroyed by GABs.
