Igor SEMENYAGA, a 3rd year student of the Department of Aircraft Control Systems (301), joined the EUDIS Defence Hackathon, organized by the European Commission to accelerate innovations in the defense sector against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine.
The hackathon was held from March 26 to 29 on the territory of a former military base in the Netherlands and brought together 478 participants from 16 European countries. Teams from the Czech Republic, France, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, and the Netherlands participated. In total, 119 teams and over 150 mentors and experts worked.
Igor and his team took 3rd place, which attracted the attention of large technology companies to its development in the field of airspace protection.
Participation in the international hackathon provided an opportunity to work with specialists who create solutions to counter modern threats, and confirmed: access to the global level is available even at the training stage.
