An important event has taken place at the Law Department of the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute”: the educational publication “Military Law” was published, prepared under the general editorship of Acting Rector Oleksii LYTVYNOV.
This textbook is an attempt to comprehend the reality in which the country lives. The focus is on modern challenges to Ukraine’s national security and legal mechanisms for overcoming them under the legal regime of martial law.
The publication considers not only the classic issues of repelling armed aggression. The authors also talk about the new reality of war: information and psychological operations, cyber aggression, acts of terrorism, systemic violations of the norms of international humanitarian law. What seemed like theory yesterday is today daily practice.
A special emphasis is placed on the legal certainty of the actions of military personnel, the peculiarities of the execution of court decisions in the military sphere, ethical standards of service, and ensuring gender equality in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The main goal of the publication is to form in future lawyers a new vision of the role of law as a strategic defense tool. To prepare specialists capable of acting responsibly, relying on national legislation and international security standards.
