A month ago, on Taras Shevchenko's birthday, a traditional thematic dictation was held at KhAI, which brought together students, teachers, and everyone who wanted to test their knowledge of the Ukrainian language and honor the figure of the great Kobzar together.
The atmosphere of the event was warm and focused — and at the same time truly friendly and even fun. This was especially felt during the summing up and awarding of prizes to the three winners. And the spelling of individual words was actively discussed in university circles for several more days. It was this lively interest and shared experience of the process that inspired the university community to start a new tradition — to hold monthly dictations among friends, colleagues, and like-minded people with the determination of the winners.
On Monday, April 6, the next — the April dictation — took place in the protected space of the university, which confirmed that the initiative has a response and is confidently gaining momentum. The names of the winners will be solemnly announced today at 10:00 during the rector's meeting.
The circle of participants is constantly expanding, and the tradition itself goes beyond the university: Oleksandra Khlebnikova, chairwoman of the Business Community Ukraine board, joined in writing the dictation.
The KhAI community sincerely thanks the acting head of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Speech Communication, Marina Shlenyova, and the associate professor of the department, Yevheniya Dmytrenko, for preparing the dictation - for her unsurpassed voice and true lecturing talent, which creates a special atmosphere at each such event.
KhAI is already waiting for the results and the announcement of the April winners - and thanks everyone who joins this beautiful university tradition. Because the Ukrainian word is what unites us even in the most difficult times.
