For Kharkiv, the sounds of sirens and the dry voice of the notification: “Attention! UAV threat!” have become part of the daily rhythm. We see with our own eyes how anti-drone nets tighten the suburbs, and we acutely feel: the sky today is not only a space for dreams, but also a zone of constant danger.
That is why today KhAI is not only about engineering, but also about how to teach the city to live, adapt and defend itself.
The other day, in the safe space of Kholodnohirsky district, an extremely important training on civil defense for directors and deputies of educational institutions took place. This was not a conversation “about drones at all”. This was a conversation about the reality in which we all live.
The classes were conducted by leading specialists of the university, who work daily at the junction of high technologies and security:
- Oleksandr ZABOLOTNYY — Dean of the Faculty of Intelligent Control Systems;
- Andriy VASILYEV — Assistant to the Rector;
- Vitaliy SIROKLYN — Head of the Department of Intelligent Measuring Systems and Quality Engineering (303).
The participants received not just academic knowledge, but a thorough understanding of the operation of FPV drones. They talked about how these technologies work today — and not only on the battlefield:
- Monitoring: how to notice a threat in time.
- Response: the role of UAVs in the civil security system and in emergency situations.
- Protection: how modern technologies help save lives in urban conditions.
Heads of educational institutions today must be a few steps ahead. The peace and safety of teams and our children depend on their awareness.
Such meetings are not a formality and not just “training on a schedule”. This is a necessity. This is a responsibility. This is our joint work for the safe sky of Kharkiv.
