Yesterday was the second day of the KhAI's popular science project “Universe of Knowledge” for students of Kharkiv's underground schools. This time, the meeting was held in the shelter of Lyceum No. 105 and brought together more than 70 high school students from the Shevchenkivskyi district.
The students traditionally got acquainted with live science and modern technologies together with teachers and scientists from the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute.” The format of the event allowed them not only to see the exhibits, but also to study their work and try themselves in the role of researchers and future engineers.
In the underground school, students worked with a 3D scanner, VR glasses, and an autonomous mixed and virtual reality headset, controlled DJI Tello flying and programmable drones, tested a flight simulator, familiarized themselves with models of gas turbine engines, bladed machine parts, composite materials, satellite engines, and a laboratory model of the CubeSAT satellite.
Special attention was drawn to bionic robots, a humanoid robot with conversational artificial intelligence, a robot projector, interactive painting with augmented reality, a stand for controlling the control surfaces of a tailless aircraft, as well as a model of a rocket and personal protective equipment.
As usual, schoolchildren took an active part in the “Journey to the Future” lottery-infoquest from the Department of Documentation and a linguistic quiz from philologists — further proof that the “Universe of Knowledge” combines engineering, thinking, and communication.
The project continues: every day of the winter holidays, Kharkiv's underground schools become a meeting place for science, safety, and the future. And the KhAI is right there with them.
