The third day of the popular science project “Universe of Knowledge” for schoolchildren in Kharkiv attracted even more interested participants. This time, a team of teachers and scientists from the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” visited the underground school of Lyceum No. 124, where high school students from the Saltivsky district joined the educational meeting. In total, more than 80 students attended the event.
During the day, schoolchildren not only learned about modern engineering and scientific fields, but also had the opportunity to see and try out real samples of technology and equipment. The participants' attention was drawn to a noise meter and personal protective equipment, models of cars and internal and external combustion engines, as well as gas turbine engines and parts of blade machines. Of particular interest were the robot projector, the control stand for the control surfaces of a tailless aircraft, the flight simulator, and the programmable DJI Tello drones.
Equally fascinating were demonstrations of bionic robots and a humanoid robot with conversational artificial intelligence, interactive painting with augmented reality, a laboratory model of a CubeSAT satellite, satellite engines, rockets, and composite materials. The practical component was complemented by a shooting range using a pistol that uses electromagnetic energy to propel the projectile, as well as equipment for financial and technical security—a banknote counter and currency detector.
A separate section was devoted to applied and socially important areas: a forensic suitcase, a metal detector, equipment, etc.
