BirdWatch International Research Project

BirdWatch International Research Project

Associate Professor of the Department of Cybersecurity and Intelligent Information Technologies (503) Tetyana NIKITINA participated in the international research project BirdWatch, implemented within the framework of the Build for Ukraine 2.0 program from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA).

The program brought together students, engineers and researchers from different countries to create technological solutions aimed at overcoming the challenges that Ukraine faces during the war.

One of such solutions was the BirdWatch project, dedicated to the development of acoustic methods for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles - a technology that is of direct importance for increasing security in the conditions of modern warfare.

One of the areas of work was the development of acoustic methods for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles.

Within the BirdWatch project, Tetyana NIKITINA was responsible for the development of the system interface and software.

The results of the international team's work were presented at the MIT Mechanical Engineering Research Exhibition 2026 (MERE 2026) - an annual event of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where researchers demonstrate the latest engineering developments to the scientific community and industrial partners.

Based on the results of the presentations, the BirdWatch project received the Best Presentation Award.

The participation of Khai scientists in such international initiatives demonstrates the high level of the Ukrainian engineering school and opens up new opportunities for cooperation with leading universities in the world.
