"A forum is always an opportunity to learn something new and express one's opinion. It is also a chance to meet new people." With this mindset, representatives of the student government—students from KhAI—set off on a work trip this Monday. Despite a grueling journey, air raid alerts, and evacuations, Maksym Kalashnikov, Vitalii Novikov, and Daria Zubova were full of energy and enthusiasm at the All-Ukrainian Youth Forum "Ukraine 2036: Architects of the Future," held at the invitation of the Mayor of Kharkiv and the Head of the Association of Frontline Cities and Communities.
The forum focused on Ukraine's development leading up to 2036. Great emphasis was placed on young people, as they are the ones who will live in this country, rebuild it after the war, and drive its future development. The issue of AI and its role in education and work was also raised; while this remains a sensitive topic fraught with uncertainty, it is through discussion that truth emerges. KhAI, an institution dedicated to education and shaping the worldview of young people, actively participated in these discussions about the future.
Following a panel discussion featuring professional speakers, the students took part in workshops covering various topics. Our students unanimously chose the "Planning Cities Together" track and joined the discussion on reconstructing a section of Pivnichna Saltivka—one of the Kharkiv districts hardest hit by the war. After working in groups, two representatives were selected to present their findings, ideas, and proposals—concepts for the future—to the entire audience. This was a valuable experience, and we believe these ideas will be brought to life! A special highlight of the forum was an evening walk through the city, which inspired new ideas and broadened horizons. This trip was all about making connections, gaining new experiences, and planning for the future.
