At the end of the academic year, KhAI teachers held a series of interesting classes for students of the Municipal Institution “Kharkiv Lyceum No. 164”.
For several weeks, schoolchildren got acquainted with the world of modern technologies, engineering, programming and science together with representatives of various Kharkiv Institute of Mathematics departments.
The project united the departments of the Faculty of Radio Electronics, Computer Systems and Infocommunications (Faculty No. 5), as well as the Department of Higher Mathematics and Systems Analysis of the Faculty of Rocket and Space Engineering (Faculty No. 4).
The Head of the Department of Higher Mathematics and Systems Analysis Nina SAVCHENKO helped lyceum students look at mathematics in a new way. Students solved non-standard logical problems, participated in a mathematical quiz and were convinced that exact sciences can be not only useful, but also exciting.
Postgraduate student of the Department of Cybersecurity and Intelligent Information Technologies Oleg OLIYNIK introduced the students to the basics of web programming and showed how to create the first website.
A whole series of classes on biomedical engineering was conducted by the head of the Department of Radioelectronic and Biomedical Computerized Means and Technologies Olena VYSOTSKA, associate professors Andriy PORVAN and Hanna STRASHNENKO. They demonstrated how modern engineering developments help medicine, pharmacy and preserving people's health.
The basics of radioelectronics — a technology without which it is impossible to imagine modern gadgets, communication systems and space technology — were introduced to the students by Yaroslav SYDOROV, a teacher of the Department of Aerospace Radioelectronic Systems (501).
Associate professors of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies named after O. O. Zelensky (504) Nadiya KOZHEMYAKINA and Viktoriya ABRAMOVA conducted classes on object recognition and modern wireless communication technologies.
Such meetings help schoolchildren better understand the world of modern technologies and, perhaps, take the first step towards their future profession.
And for KhAI, this is an opportunity to share knowledge, inspire young people and open up new horizons of science and engineering for them.
