Scientists from the Department of Computer Science and Information Technologies (No. 302) of KhAI presented a report at the 6th International Conference of IT-Professionals on Artificial Intelligence (ProfIT AI 2026), which was held in Coventry (UK).
Within the section "Computer Vision, Autonomous Systems and Cyber-Physical Infrastructures", the scientific team consisting of:
- Prof. Oleksandr PROKHOROV,
- Prof. Oleg FEDOROVYCH,
- Assoc. Prof. Yulia LESCHCHENKO,
- Assoc. Prof. Andrii POPOV,
- Assoc. Prof. Oleksii GUBKA
presented research on the topic: "An Intelligent Onboard Adaptive Mission Replanning System for UAVs Based on Computer Vision Data".
KhAI scientists developed the architecture of an intelligent onboard system that allows drones to independently change tasks and routes without the participation of an operator.
Key features of the development:
- Autonomy of actions: the system combines computer vision, object recognition and prioritization, and decision-making into a single control loop.
- Adaptability: having detected an important object, the UAV automatically replans the route and mission scenario right in the air.
- Simulation modeling: the mechanisms were tested using its own agent planner, which allows you to model complex scenarios, build routes, and evaluate the effectiveness of the system.
