The Legal Department is a structural division of the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute”, established with the purpose of organizing and implementing legal work at the University.
The main tasks of the Legal Department are:
- legal support of the University and its structural subdivisions;
- control over compliance with the law in all areas of activity;
- improvement of the implementation of statutory tasks;
- legal support of educational, scientific, economic, international, and other activities;
- bringing the internal regulatory framework in line with current legislation;
- integration into the modern legal field;
- raising the level of legal education and legal culture among employees and students.
In its work, the Legal Department is guided by:
- the University Charter;
- the Regulation on the Legal Department of the University.
According to its assigned tasks, the main functions of the Legal Department are:
- ensuring the proper application of legislation at the University, providing the Rector with proposals regarding legal aspects of its activities;
- developing and participating in the preparation of draft regulatory acts and official documents;
- organizing contract work: participating in the preparation of agreements, conducting their legal review, and monitoring compliance;
- conducting claims and litigation work, analyzing its effectiveness;
- representing the University’s interests in courts (in cases provided by law), including for the protection of its property rights and lawful interests;
- taking measures to eliminate violations specified in documents issued by judicial, law enforcement, and supervisory authorities;
- ensuring compliance with the law when resolving industrial and social issues of the workforce;
- providing legal assistance to academic, pedagogical, and other employees, as well as to higher education applicants;
- organizing legal awareness activities aimed at raising the level of legal knowledge and providing consultations on legal issues arising in the performance of official duties.
