In order to morally and materially encourage applicants for professional, specialized pre-higher and higher education who have shown special success in their studies, research and scientific work, up to 500 named Scholarships of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine named after Ivan Ohienko are awarded annually, including:
- Up to 125 scholarships - for applicants for professional education;
- Up to 125 scholarships - for applicants for professional pre-higher education;
- Up to 250 scholarships - for applicants for higher education.
The Scholarship may be awarded to persons who are receiving professional, specialized pre-higher or higher education in institutions of professional, specialized pre-higher or higher education on a full-time basis at the expense of the state or local budget.
The amount of one Scholarship is:
- For applicants for vocational education – 7400 hryvnias per month;
- For applicants for professional pre-higher education – 7400 hryvnias per month;
- For applicants for higher education – 9700 hryvnias per month.
