The "IT" Club at KhAI is a practical course for school students who want to do more than just "study programming"—they get to try different fields of the modern IT industry and find out what truly interests them.
During classes, participants will explore the roles of Frontend and Backend Developers, Unity Developers, Mobile App Developers, QA Engineers, Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, 3D Artists, and 3D Printing Specialists.
The core programming language will be C#, but the course goes beyond a single language or technology. Students will gain hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, work with Web APIs and databases, create games in Unity, build mobile applications, write test cases and bug reports, define requirements and backlogs, and work on 3D modeling and preparing their models for 3D printing.
The primary principle of the club is maximum practice. Almost every class delivers a tangible outcome: a mini-game, web page, API, mobile app, test cases, 3D model, or a 3D-printed object.
Participants will also learn how a real IT team operates: they will practice defining requirements, writing User Stories, managing backlogs, estimating tasks using Planning Poker, testing software, and presenting their projects.
A dedicated track in the club covers 3D modeling and 3D printing. Students will create models using Tinkercad and Blender, learn the fundamentals of FDM printing, slicer software, printing materials, and model preparation techniques.
At the end of the course, participants will team up to build a final IT project—a game, web or mobile app, useful service, or 3D-printing project—and present it on Demo Day.
