The main direction of activity of the Intellectual Property Department is ensuring highly effective scientific and research-and-development activities at the University, maintaining and preserving unique scientific intellectual property assets, and developing patent research during scientific and research projects in the field of the University's scientific activities.
Main areas of activity of the Intellectual Property Department:
- organizing and implementing modern management methods in the field of intellectual property, promoting the commercialization of the University's scientific and research-and-development results, and cooperating with Ukrainian enterprises and entities involved in scientific and research activities to utilize these results;
- participating in measures to ensure the protection and lawful use of intellectual property rights created as a result of scientific, research-and-development, and research activities, as well as facilitating the commercialization of intellectual property rights acquired by the University;
- providing information and analytical support for the creation, protection, defense, and commercialization of intellectual property rights;
- promoting the development of scientific and technical creativity among students, postgraduate students, and university staff, and engaging them in inventive and rationalization activities;
- IP Department staff participate in the following processes of the University's Quality Management System:
- design and development;
- organizational activities.
Functions of the Intellectual Property Department:
- provides methodological assistance to university departments in conducting patent and patent-market research during scientific and research work, as well as preparing proposals on the expediency of patenting their results;
- provides consultation and methodological assistance in searching for and utilizing patent materials;
- participates in the preparation and submission of application documents for intellectual property rights to designated state bodies for patenting in Ukraine;
- provides consultation and methodological assistance in searching for and utilizing patent materials - provides methodological assistance to university departments in conducting patent and patent-market research during scientific and research work, as well as preparing proposals on the expediency of patenting their results;
- facilitates the participation of university inventors in competitions and exhibitions of inventions and utility models to popularize university inventions, encourage inventors to introduce intellectual results into production, identify the most talented and promising developments, and attract the attention of domestic and foreign investors and entrepreneurs.
