1. General Provisions

1.1 The Instructions for the Design of Title Pages of Individual Student Projects (Papers) set out general requirements for the development, content, and structure of title pages at National Aerospace University «Kharkiv Aviation Institute» (hereinafter referred to as the University). Appendices provide examples and templates for the development of individual student projects (papers).

1.2 An individual student paper is a form of organizing the educational process that foresees creating conditions for the fullest realization of students' creative potential through the individually directed development of their abilities, research work, and creative activity, performed on the basis of knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired during lectures, seminars, practical, and laboratory classes, covering several topics or the content of an educational course as a whole.

1.3 The title page is the first page of an individual student paper, serving as the main source of information required for processing and searching for the document, and contains, in particular:

- the name of the ministry;

- the full name of the higher educational institution;

- the full name of the institute, faculty, department (subject committee);

- the title/type of the individual student paper (explanatory note to a diploma project (paper), term project (paper), etc.);

- the educational-qualification level for the explanatory note to a diploma project (paper); the name of the discipline for other types of work;

- the topic of the individual student paper;

- information about the author (student) and the supervisor; the explanatory note to a diploma project (paper) additionally contains information regarding the reviewer.

1.4 The title page of individual student papers, with the exception of the explanatory note to a diploma project (paper), additionally contains academic performance tracking details with fields for evaluating the results of the paper defense, namely:

 

1.5 The title page of a term project (paper) additionally contains information regarding the committee members with space for their personal signatures, namely:

1.6 The title pages of all individual student papers contain the name of the city and the year the work was completed.

2. Requirements for Title Page Design

2.1 The title page of an individual student paper is formatted on white A4 paper (210 mm x 297 mm).

When formatting the title page of an individual student paper, the following parameters must be observed:

- page margins: left – 25 mm, right – 10 mm, top and bottom – 20 mm;

- font – Times New Roman 14 pt (except for the title/type of the individual student paper, which is rendered in 22 pt font size), black color;

- font character spacing – normal (without expanded or condensed spacing);

- line spacing – 1;

- paragraph indents and spacing before/after are not used (zero).

2.2 An example of the title page layout for a diploma project (paper) is given in Appendix A, for a term project (paper) in Appendix B, and for other individual student papers in Appendix C.

2.3 Form templates for title pages to be used when designing individual student papers at the University are provided in Appendix D.

Form templates of title pages in Appendix D are provided in the following sequence:

- diploma project;

- diploma paper;

- term project;

- term paper;

- calculation and graphic assignment;

- calculation assignment;

- modular paper;

- essay (abstract);

- laboratory report.

3. Coding Procedure for Diploma Papers and Projects

To simplify the processes of grouping, storing, and searching student diploma papers and projects, information regarding the document code is additionally indicated on the title page.

An alphanumeric coding system is used when compiling codes for diploma papers and projects.

The code consists of the following designations separated by periods:

1) name of the educational institution (abbreviation) – KhAI;

2) graduating department number;

3) academic group number;

4) field of study code (for Bachelor's degree) or specialty code (for Specialist's and Master's degrees);

5) full record book number (without the «№» symbol);

6) last two digits of the year and the first letter of the semester («O» for papers completed in the autumn semester, «V» for spring).

Example of code assignment: «KhAI.407.449.101715.00318214.15V».
