General Overview of the Scientific School
The Igor Shostak Scientific School was formed through many years of working on a number of scientific areas in the field of information technologies, in particular, the intellectualization of decision-making processes in the management of complex large-scale systems. The activities of the representatives of the scientific school are aimed at conducting fundamental and applied research into current problems of organizing the functioning of this class of systems.
Founder of the Scientific School

Shostak Igor Volodymyrovych (born December 21, 1961, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian scientist, Doctor of Technical Sciences (2009), Professor (2015), Professor of the Department of Software Engineering of the National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute". His scientific career is associated with the creation of a methodological basis for the automation of processes in various spheres of human activity.
Main Research Directions of the School
1. Automation of production processes in aircraft manufacturing based on a multi-agent approach.
2. Methodology for managing the life cycle of virtual manufacturing enterprises.
3. Analysis of natural language texts using ontological engineering tools.
4. Informatization of foresight studies on the selection of priorities for scientific and technological development at the industry and national levels.
Scientific Achievements and Results
Under the scientific supervision of I. V. Shostak, a number of candidate dissertations in the specialty "Information Technologies" were prepared and defended. The scientific results of the school's activities were implemented in the Kharkiv State Aviation Production Enterprise, in the Scientific Research Center for Industrial Development Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in the Institute of Telecommunications and Global Information Space of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
