For the purpose of moral and material support of students in vocational, professional pre-higher, and higher education who study full-time and are funded by the state or local budget, up to 150 Hryhorii Skovoroda Scholarships of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine are awarded annually, including:
- up to 40 scholarships – to students of vocational education;
- up to 40 scholarships – to students of professional pre-higher education;
- up to 70 scholarships – to students of higher education pursuing the degrees of junior bachelor, bachelor, or master.
The scholarship may be awarded to students who belong to one of the following categories:
- orphans;
- children deprived of parental care;
- individuals aged 18 to 23 who lost both parents during their studies (parents deceased, declared deceased, killed, or missing);
- children from families receiving assistance under the Law of Ukraine “On State Social Assistance to Low-Income Families.”
The amount of the scholarship is 150% of the social scholarship established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in accordance with the law for students of vocational, professional pre-higher, and higher education who are entitled to social scholarships of the relevant category, education level, and age.
The scholarship is awarded and paid in addition to other scholarships or grants provided by individuals or legal entities (including academic and/or social scholarships granted by the vocational, professional pre-higher, or higher education institution), as well as pensions, state assistance, or support from the local budget provided in accordance with the law.
