The Department of Rocket Engineering Structures and Design (401) is a place where the future of rocket and space technology is being created today. As the successor to the departments of rocket engines and space systems design, it has combined their rich experience and transformed it into a modern educational and research environment where new technologies and bold engineering solutions are born. The Department trains specialists capable of working with the most advanced technologies—from rockets and rocket engines to unmanned and innovative space systems.

The Department provides higher education training in the specialty G12 “Aviation and Rocket and Space Technology” under the educational program “Rocket and Space Technology” at the first (Bachelor’s) and second (Master’s) levels. In addition, postgraduate (PhD) training is carried out under the relevant educational and research program.

The Department maintains strong cooperation with leading research institutions and industry enterprises, ensuring students’ access to real engineering projects and modern technological solutions.

The material and technical facilities of the Department offer a full range of opportunities for comprehensive engineering training—from materials research and structural modeling to testing of individual units and assemblies. Students are actively involved in scientific research in the fields of rocket engines, power systems, and unmanned systems.

Scientific activity is an integral part of the Department’s life. A model rocketry club operates at the Department, whose members have repeatedly become winners of competitions and recipients of prestigious scholarships, including the Leonid Kuchma Scholarship and the Scholarship of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Working on rockets, engines, and unmanned systems, students discover engineering as a combination of science, creativity, and responsibility. That is why the Department’s graduates confidently enter the professional world and are ready to create the technologies of tomorrow.
