The Department of Rocketry Structure and Design (401) is where the future of aerospace technology is being created today. Inheriting the legacy of the departments of rocket engines and space systems design, it combined their rich experience and transformed it into a modern educational and scientific hub where new technologies and bold engineering solutions are born. Here, specialists are trained to work with cutting-edge technologies—from rockets and rocket engines to unmanned and innovative space systems.

The department trains higher education students in specialty G12 "Aviation and Rocket-Space Engineering", under the "Rocket-Space Engineering" educational program at the first (Bachelor's) and second (Master's) levels. In addition, the department provides postgraduate PhD training under the corresponding educational-scientific program.

The department maintains ongoing cooperation with leading research institutions and industrial enterprises in the sector, providing students with access to real-world engineering projects and modern technological solutions.

The material and technical base of the department offers a full spectrum of opportunities for comprehensive engineering training—from materials research and structural modeling to testing individual components and units. Students actively participate in R&D projects in the fields of rocket engines, power plants, and unmanned systems.

Scientific activity is a fundamental part of life at the department. It houses a rocketry modeling student club whose members have repeatedly won competitions and received named scholarships, including the Leonid Kuchma Scholarship and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Scholarship. By working on rockets, engines, and unmanned systems, students discover engineering as a fusion of science, creativity, and responsibility. That is why the department's graduates confidently enter the professional world and stand ready to build tomorrow's technologies.
