Training of psychologists at the National Aerospace University "KHAI" has been conducted since September 1, 2001. The establishment and development of the Department of Psychology took place under the leadership of Professor, Doctor of Psychology, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine, Oleksandr Surenovych Kocharyan. Over the years of the department's existence, more than 14 candidate dissertations have been defended, and over 500 scientific papers have been published.
Today, the profession of a psychologist is particularly in demand and widespread in the education system, politics, business, and advertising, in recruiting and HR, in IT companies, and in industry.
In training future psychologists, we place emphasis on practical training and the development of necessary professional skills and abilities, so that tomorrow our graduates can effectively apply their knowledge, skills, and expertise.
Specialist training is conducted in specialty C4 Psychology under the educational programs "Psychology" (Bachelor's) and "Psychological Counseling and Psychotherapy" (Master's), offered in both full-time and part-time study modes.
Teaching is carried out by highly qualified faculty members who possess successful experience in academic, scientific, and practical activities in psychological counseling, non-medical psychotherapy, psychological training, business consulting, HR management, mental health support, and more.
The department employs 2 Doctors of Sciences and 16 Candidates of Sciences, many of whom are alumni of our department who defended their dissertations in General Psychology, Pedagogical and Developmental Psychology, Medical Psychology, Psychology of Activity in Extreme Conditions, and other fields.
The department features modern facilities: a multimedia laboratory for comprehensive diagnostics of human functional states and a fully equipped classroom for socio-psychological training and interactive learning.
Since February 2009, the Student Scientific Society (SSS) of the Department of Psychology has been active. The professional and scientific-methodological quality of the SSS is ensured by experienced faculty specialists. Students of the department win prizes and certificates in student Olympiads and competitions, and receive named scholarships for achievements in studies and research.
Furthermore, starting in 2009, the Faculty of Humanities and Law along with the Department of Psychology have held the annual All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "Psychology in the Modern World," regularly attracting over 50 students and young scientists from various higher education institutions.
The department's faculty members possess unique professional experience in counseling military personnel and their families, working with PTSD, and related areas.
For pre-graduation internships (Bachelor's and Master's), rehabilitation centers, volunteer organizations, and similar facilities are engaged.
In addition to crisis psychology, courses include psychotherapeutic workshops and group work methods that allow students to utilize practical psychological tools for professional consulting, therapeutic, and corrective work (including with military personnel and IDPs).
