The Department trains Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students in the specialties G18 “Geodesy and Land Management” and E4 “Earth Sciences.”

Training of highly qualified specialists (PhD) is carried out at the Department in the specialty E4 “Earth Sciences”, educational and research program “Remote Aerospace Research.”

The Department of Geoinformation Technologies and Earth Remote Sensing has a strong material, technical, and research base, as well as a professional academic staff, which enables the provision of full higher education in the following specialties: G18 “Geodesy and Land Management” (Educational Program “Geodesy and Land Management”) and E4 “Earth Sciences” (Educational Program “Earth Remote Sensing”).

Students study using modern licensed software and work with up-to-date geodetic equipment. They also regularly participate in international conferences, competitions, and contests, including those supported by long-term international partner organizations.

Graduates of the Department primarily work in the following fields: data analytics; processing of aerospace monitoring data; LiDAR data analysis and 3D scanning; operation and management of geographic information systems (GIS); programming and testing of Big Data projects; geodesy and land management; cartography; environmental monitoring; and geomarketing.

The Department has 7 facilities with a total area of 376.4 sq. m, including:
