The Department of Aircraft Engine Design is a key educational and research unit of the Faculty of Aircraft Engines, preparing highly qualified specialists in G12 “Aviation and Rocket-Space Technology.”
The department’s mission is to train a new generation of engineers and scientists specializing in the design, strength, dynamics, and automatic control of aircraft engines and power units. The experienced teaching staff includes three Doctors of Science, six Candidates of Technical Sciences, and several PhD holders, ensuring a high level of theoretical and practical training.
Research activities focus on improving the efficiency and reliability of critical aviation systems. The educational process actively incorporates modern methods of mathematical modeling, vibroacoustic diagnostics, and operational resource monitoring to solve real engineering problems.
The department’s training base includes six specialized laboratories equipped with unique models of turboreactive and piston engines, their assemblies, and other equipment. These facilities allow students to achieve a high professional level in modern aircraft engine construction and precision mechanical engineering.
The department’s research units carry out R&D projects for leading aviation enterprises in Ukraine and international organizations. Students are systematically involved in these projects and are regular participants and winners of scientific competitions and olympiads. The department’s scientific achievements are well recognized in the global research community and have been implemented in many engines and systems produced in Ukraine.
