The Department of Aircraft Structural Strength (102) is part of the Aircraft Engineering Faculty (Faculty No. 1) and specializes in structural analysis, testing, and ensuring the reliability of aviation structures.
Educational Activities and Specializations
The department trains specialists in the following fields:
G9 Applied Mechanics: “Engineering Technologies of Dynamics and Strength of Manned and Unmanned Aircraft Using Artificial Intelligence and Computer Systems” (educational program “Dynamics and Strength of Machines”)
G12 Aviation and Rocket-Space Technology: “Design, Production, and Certification of Aviation Equipment” (educational program “Design, Production, and Certification of Aviation Equipment”)
Students study:
- mechanics of materials and structures;
- fracture mechanics;
- theory of elasticity;
- structural mechanics;
- finite element methods (computer modeling);
- aircraft structural strength;
- airworthiness standards and certification of aircraft.
The department combines fundamental engineering training with modern IT technologies for engineering analysis (CAE systems).
Research and Practical Facilities
The department hosts a Specialized Resarch Laboratory “Strength”.
It has a strong material and technical base for full-scale testing and computer modeling.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates of the department are in demand as experts in aircraft structural strength, general mechanical engineering, and international certification.
