The goal of the Olena Borshch Charitable Foundation is to provide financial assistance to students in technical fields who live in territories controlled by Ukraine and find themselves in difficult financial situations due to the war, but continue full-time studies at higher education institutions in Ukraine.
The Foundation was established in July 2022. Olena Borshch had her own bitter experience: she was unable to obtain higher education because she lived during the years of World War II. This is why her life’s goal became creating the most favorable conditions for the younger generation to gain solid knowledge in Ukrainian universities.

Scholarship amount: 8,000 UAH per month
Since 2022, the Foundation has supported students in technical fields at higher education institutions in Ukrainian-controlled territories.
Goal – to form a new generation of specialists capable of rebuilding the country after the war.
“We are inspired by the stories of students who, despite personal tragedies and hardships, continue their studies. One young man, who lost his parents during the occupation, works nights, studies electronics, and maintains high grades. It is for such young people that we created this Foundation,” – Oleksiy Lokhonya, Director of the Foundation.
In 2025, the Foundation is expanding the program:
- increasing the number of scholarships and the payment amount;
- partnerships with IT companies and technical universities;
- mentoring program with successful alumni;
- funding educational and research projects;
- internships, practical training, and grants involving businesses;
- ambassadors in universities – to inform students.
New selection criteria:
- not only academic achievements and financial situation, but also motivation, volunteer experience, and participation in community rebuilding.
