The main purpose of the Center for Innovation Development, International Scientific, Technical and Educational Cooperation is to support, develop and commercialize the results of innovative scientific and technical projects, to foster international scientific, technical and educational cooperation, and to implement technical modernization programs of the University.
In accordance with its purpose, the Center for Innovation Development, International Scientific, Technical and Educational Cooperation performs the following main tasks:
- development of proposals and projects for the prospective development of the University regarding educational, scientific, industrial and other activities, as well as the material and technical base;
- implementation and coordination of measures aimed at expanding sources of extra-budgetary funding and obtaining technical assistance;
- coordination of the “Innovation Office” system;
- coordination of the technology transfer system;
- coordination of the “Business Incubator” system and ensuring the creation and development of start-up companies based on technical developments and commercial ideas;
- coordination of the development of infrastructure to support start-up activities based on the University’s departments;
- coordination of “open laboratories” and the system of paid technical services;
- promoting cooperation with enterprises, organizations and institutions to implement bilateral communication aimed at updating educational programs and research topics, obtaining requests for technical developments to solve current tasks of enterprises, achieving practical results and commercializing research outcomes, etc.;
- organization of activities to improve the qualifications of scientific and academic staff at domestic and international partner enterprises and universities; organization of student internships and support in the development and implementation of new teaching and knowledge assessment technologies, including the use of training equipment and information and communication technologies.
To achieve its objectives, the Center for Innovation Development, International Scientific, Technical and Educational Cooperation performs the following functions:
- participation in preparing projects for the prospective development of the University regarding educational, scientific, industrial and other activities, as well as the material and technical base;
- collection, systematization and analysis of statistical data that characterize the effectiveness of the University’s activities in the areas defined by the tasks of the Center;
- implementation and coordination of measures aimed at expanding sources of extra-budgetary funding;
- coordination of processes for obtaining technical assistance from donor organizations, institutions, national and international foundations, grant programs, etc.;
Coordination of the “Innovation Office” system as an integrated system for supporting and developing innovations at the University and partner companies, including with the involvement of external investments:
- information support for projects (market analysis, assessment of commercial attractiveness, assistance in preparing business plans, product promotion);
- organizational support (search for partners for additional research, product refinement, production organization, distribution channels: industrial enterprises, research institutes, commercial companies, independent experts in Ukraine, the EU, the USA, Canada, Asia-Pacific countries, etc.);
- technical support (organization of additional research, tests, production of prototype or commercial samples based on the University’s units);
- financial support (investor search): facilitating the implementation of investment-attractive projects with the involvement of investors, production and commercial partners from the EU, USA, Canada, CIS countries, etc.
