The Canadian government Mitacs Globalink Research Internship program offers the opportunity to participate in research internships at Canadian universities during the summer. The Mitacs program is designed for Ukrainian students in their 3rd year of undergraduate study. This is a 12-week research internship supervised by Canadian university faculty in various academic disciplines, ranging from engineering, technical, and mathematical sciences to humanities and social sciences.
Eligibility requirements:
- Proficiency in English or French
- GPA above 80%
- Completion of the undergraduate program between June 2026 and December 2027
Students receive:
- Coverage of visa fees, airfare, accommodation, living expenses, and health insurance;
- Support from mentors on campus in Canada;
- Free participation in events and professional development courses.
Applications open in August and remain open for about two months.
Additionally, the Mitacs program offers further scholarship opportunities:
- The Mitacs Globalink Research Award (GRA) program is designed for Ukrainians who are senior undergraduate students, graduate students, PhD candidates, or postdoctoral researchers;
- The Mitacs Accelerate International program allows students to receive a grant for a research project.
