B11 Philology

Specialty B11 Philology is not just about the rules of language; it is about mastering humanity’s most powerful weapon — the Word. Today, a philologist is an architect of meanings, a content strategist, and a master of intercultural communication. Our students explore the magic of translation, the psychology of speech, digital linguistics, and the secrets of successful storytelling, all of which allow them to build bridges between cultures, brands, and people in the global digital space.

The goal of training is to transform you into a universal "communication hacker" capable of decoding any text and creating your own intellectual worlds. We will teach you to feel the rhythm of language, analyze subtexts, and manage audience attention. This is a combination of classical erudition with modern skills in copywriting, media analytics, and translation studies. You will learn to turn thoughts into influential messages, becoming indispensable in the world of creative industries, international business, and IT projects.

Your superpower: In a world where Artificial Intelligence generates texts, the true value lies in the ability to imbue them with meaning, emotion, and cultural code. You will develop Emotional Intelligence and Linguistic Intuition — skills that cannot be automated. Our graduates successfully work in international companies, diplomatic missions, top media outlets, and publishing houses, where the ability to think in the world's languages and create reality-changing content is highly valued.

The objects of activity for graduates of this specialty are language(s) (in theoretical/practical, synchronous/diachronic, dialectological, stylistic, sociocultural, and other aspects); literature and oral folk creativity; genre and style varieties of texts; translation; interpersonal, intercultural, and mass communication in oral and written forms.

Training is provided by the Department of Applied Linguistics (703).
