B11 Philology

The objects of professional activity of graduates of this specialty include language(s) (in theoretical and practical, synchronic and diachronic, dialectological, stylistic, sociocultural, and other aspects); literature and oral folk art; genre and stylistic varieties of texts; translation; interpersonal, intercultural, and mass communication in oral and written forms.

The purpose of the program is to train specialists capable of solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of philology, characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions, in particular in activities related to the analysis, creation (including translation), and evaluation of written and oral texts of various genres and styles, as well as the organization of effective multilingual communication. Graduates are also expected to be able to address complex tasks and problems that involve conducting research and/or implementing innovations and are characterized by uncertainty of conditions and requirements in activities related to the analysis, creation (including translation), and evaluation of written and oral texts of various genres and styles, and the organization of successful communication in different languages.

Training is provided by the Department of Applied Linguistics (Department No. 703).
