National Aerospace University «Kharkiv Aviation Institute»

Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University

Cooperation between the National Aerospace University "KhAI" and Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University (AYBU) is an example of a modern partnership with one of Turkey's most dynamic state universities. AYBU, founded in 2010, is oriented towards international standards and is one of the few universities in Turkey where instruction in almost all technical faculties is conducted exclusively in English.

AYBU occupies a strategic position in the capital of Turkey, providing KhAI students with direct access to the country's scientific and industrial hub.

Study Models:

Master's Degree ("1+1" scheme): Students complete their first year of study (theoretical course) at KhAI and spend the second year at AYBU, working on their Master's thesis under the supervision of professors from both universities.

Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility: Short-term exchanges (1 semester) for Bachelor's and Master's students with a stipend payment.

PhD Research Mobility: Joint research for doctoral students, including work in specialized laboratories in Ankara.

Priority Specializations:

Computer Engineering: Machine learning, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering: Telecommunications, signal processing, and control systems.

Mechanical Engineering: Aerodynamics, thermal engineering, and innovative manufacturing processes.

Materials Engineering: Composites and nanomaterials for the aerospace industry.

Educational Features:

Fully English-speaking Environment: Unlike many other Turkish HEIs, English is the primary language of instruction in technical fields at AYBU, which removes the language barrier for international students.

Laboratories: Access to modern laboratories at the Esenboğa Campus and specialized centers in the heart of Ankara.

Industry Connections: Due to its location in Ankara, the university cooperates with such giants as TUSAŞ (Turkish Aerospace Industries) and ASELSAN, which is vital for KhAI students.

Financial Conditions:

Erasmus+ Grants: A monthly stipend of approximately 800 euros plus coverage of travel expenses (subject to an active inter-institutional grant).

Tuition Fee Waiver: Within the framework of the double degree agreement, KhAI students do not pay tuition fees at the Turkish university.

Cost of Living: Despite its status as the capital, Ankara remains an affordable city for students with a developed system of state dormitories (KYK) and social cafeterias.

Advantages for Students:

Internationally Accredited Degree: AYBU diplomas include a European-standard Diploma Supplement, facilitating employment in the EU and the USA.

Capital Opportunities: Ankara is the political and engineering center of Turkey, where the headquarters of major aerospace companies are concentrated.

Networking: Opportunity to participate in international technical competitions (such as TEKNOFEST) as part of Turkish-Ukrainian teams.

Requirements for Candidates:

Be a 3rd or 4th-year Bachelor's student or a 1st-year Master's student at KhAI.

Language Competence: English proficiency not lower than level B2 (certificate required or successful completion of internal AYBU testing).

Grade Point Average (GPA) not lower than 4.0 on a five-point scale.

A scientific interest that aligns with the research areas of AYBU professors.
