Yesterday, August 23, on the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine and the Day of the native Kharkiv, it was sunny, sporty and truly festive at the KhAI stadium again.
Athletes, running enthusiasts and like-minded people united by their love for sports and their hometown gathered here.
The RELAY RACE 25×400 m track and field relay race from TOTAL RUN was held for the sixth time at the sports base of the Department of Physical Education, Sports and Rehabilitation of KhAI.
This time, 12 teams took to the start. 25 participants covered 400 meters each - a total of 10 kilometers of team running. A real sporting struggle was taking place on the track, and a friendly atmosphere and crazy support from fans reigned around.
Before the start, the participants honored the memory of the deceased with a minute of silence. This day had a special meaning: they remembered those who gave their lives for Ukraine today, and those who liberated Kharkiv 83 years ago.
And then they said: “Let’s start!” — and the stadium exploded with applause.
The ideological inspirer and organizer of the competition is Denis VYNNYKOV, a multiple prizewinner of the Ukrainian championship in road running among veterans, who has been popularizing running in Kharkiv for many years.

The participants of the race also expressed their sincere gratitude to the rector of KhAI Oleksii LYTVYNOV for the opportunity to hold another track and field competition at the university’s sports facility.
