Main Tasks of the Educational Process

The tasks of upbringing at the University are:

- preparing a conscious intelligentsia, preserving the intellectual gene pool of the nation, multiplying the cultural potential that will ensure high performance efficiency of future specialists;

- educating future specialists as authoritative, highly educated individuals who embody a high general political, legal, intellectual, socio-psychological, aesthetic, and physical culture;

- creating conditions for the free development of the individual, their thinking and general culture, and involvement in various types of creative activities;

- forming civic and social activity and responsibility;

- fostering an awareness of the interconnection between individual freedom, human rights, and civic duty;

- enriching aesthetic experience, participating in the revival and creation of national and cultural traditions of the city and region, expanding creative ties with cultural institutions, and developing artistic abilities;

- creating conditions for self-realization of the individual in accordance with their abilities, public, and personal interests;

- promoting a healthy lifestyle, eradicating harmful habits, and preventing offenses;

- creating the necessary conditions for the effective development of student self-government, identifying potential leaders and organizers;

- fostering respect for one's alma mater, adhering to and developing the democratic and academic traditions of the higher education institution.  

The goal of the upbringing process at KhAI is comprehensively realized both within the educational process and beyond it.

Responsibility for the organization and effectiveness of upbringing work is assigned to the Head of the Department of Educational and Upbringing Work, Deputy Deans of Faculties for Upbringing Work, and group tutors (curators). The specific duties of the upbringing process organizers are enshrined in job descriptions.

The Department of Educational and Upbringing Work is engaged in coordinating upbringing work across faculties, upbringing work in student dormitories, work with student self-government bodies, cultural and mass work, organization of student leisure, lecture-advocacy, and social work.

Main tasks of the department: 

- preparing highly qualified, harmoniously developed engineering personnel, forming their skills as future production organizers and managers;

- conducting educational and upbringing work using modern pedagogical methods of educational and upbringing activities;

- developing social activity, responsibility for assigned tasks, spiritual maturity, and cultural awareness in students;

- identifying and realizing the creative abilities of students, promoting the harmonious development of the student's personality;

- developing motivation for studying and scientific activity in students;

- involving students in work activities, sports, participation in amateur arts, and participation in student associations and interest clubs;

- carrying out preventive work to prevent offenses;

- creating necessary conditions for student living in dormitories;

- monitoring academic and labor discipline of students, responding to various offenses;

- providing legal, psychological support, and protection of mental health and social well-being of all participants in the educational process with the free support of the psychological service;

- coordinating the educational and upbringing process with the activities of the trade union organization of students and other public associations;

- promoting the development of the student self-government structure;

- promoting the organization of extracurricular independent work of students;

- disseminating the experience of top-performing students and promoting the education of honors students;

- studying innovative experience in educational and upbringing work from other higher education institutions of Ukraine and implementing advanced achievements into the educational and upbringing process of the University.
