From August 14 to 21, a mini basketball festival took place in Chorna Tysa, featuring 9 teams from various regions of Ukraine in the girls born in 2014 category.
Among the participants were teams from Poltava, Pereiaslav, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Lviv, and Kyiv regions, as well as "Mobi" from Brovary.
The KhAI – KDYUSSH-2 team became the true triumphant champion of the festival!

Five girls from the KhAI team made it into the ALL STAR team. Three winners received a special award — champion rings.
Juniors from the KhAI aeromodeling laboratory traveled to the Czech city of Svitavy, where two stages of the World Cup in F2B control line aerobatic models took place on August 13–16: the Israel World Cup 2026 and the Svitavy World Cup 2026.
Mykola TKACHUK once again confirmed his high level. At the Israel World Cup, he took 6th place overall, competing not only against juniors but also against the strongest adult athletes. In the junior classification, Mykola emerged as the winner.
Stanislav DZIUBA also took a noticeable step forward. He climbed to the podium at a World Cup stage among juniors for the first time, taking second place.
The Czech competitions have concluded, but the international season for KhAI aeromodelers continues. Very soon, the experienced crew of Oleksii IHOSHYN / Yurii CHAIKA will take over the relay from the juniors as they prepare for two World Cup stages in Lugo, Italy — the Carpathia 2026 International World Cup and the 63rd Coppa d’Oro World Cup Internazionale. The competitions will take place on September 3–6, 2026.
The Italian races will be of special significance: they offer an opportunity not only to test equipment and evaluate athlete readiness, but also to prepare for the course that will host the European Championship in 2027. Thus, this year's competitions will serve as a rehearsal for the upcoming championship.
The sports season for the KhAI Laboratory of Student Technical Creativity (LTTS) continues. Young athletes are gaining international experience and claiming places on the podium, competing alongside seasoned aeromodelers. It is precisely this continuity between generations that helps future athletes and engineers grow.
On August 15 and 16, the Ukrainian Sambo Cup in sport and combat sambo among men and women took place in Ivano-Frankivsk.
Participants competed for 32 sets of individual awards across four disciplines, as well as team trophies.
The legendary KhAI sambo school is once again among the best!
Among the Ukrainian Cup prize winners are our students:

- Yehor IEVDOSHENKO secured the bronze award.

From July 31 to August 2, 2026, the 75th European Tether Car Championship took place in Tallinn, Estonia.
A representative of the KhAI Laboratory of Student Technical Creativity, university alumnus Mykola VASYLKOV, won third place in Class 2, achieving a speed of 275.095 km/h.
Mykola's result is officially confirmed by the final standings table of the competition. In his first run, he clocked 275.095 km/h, which became his best result at the championship. First place went to Tõnu Sepp (Estonia) — 278.281 km/h, second place to Manuel Finn (Germany) — 278.023 km/h.
This award holds special significance for KhAI. Building a new high-speed tether car model was included in the LTTS Annual Work Plan for 2026 as a dedicated educational and practical project. The plan covered a complete engineering cycle:
- development of 3D models of components;
- preparation of CNC machine programs;
- manufacturing of structural elements;
- assembly of the model;
- testing and refinement;
- technical support during competitions.
The project was carried out through joint efforts of the LTTS team, involving athletes, staff, and KhAI alumni.
In fact, the model went through the entire journey — from concept and digital design to manufacturing, testing, improvement, and validation in international competition conditions. This is precisely the approach that aligns with the principles of CDIO — Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate: conceiving, designing, implementing, and operating a real engineering system.
The bronze medal at the European Championship served as objective confirmation of the effectiveness of this work. At the same time, the project demonstrated the potential of the inter-faculty format of the LTTS: creating competitive equipment requires a combination of design, manufacturing technology, materials science, mechanics, testing, and performance analysis.
It is precisely these real-world projects that can unite students, faculty members, researchers, staff, and alumni from various KhAI departments around a concrete engineering result.
Mykola VASYLKOV's third place is practical confirmation of the approach chosen by LTTS: to build real engineering systems through joint effort and walk with them the entire path from an initial idea to testing the outcome in real-world conditions.
Oleksii KOSYLO, a student at the Faculty of Aircraft Engineering of National Aerospace University "KhAI", became the European Vice-Champion in aeromodeling sport by winning the silver medal in the F1A class (gliders) at the European Championship held in Prilep (North Macedonia).
Without exaggeration, this achievement is historic. Oleksii KOSYLO became only the second athlete in the history of independent Ukraine to step onto the European Championship podium in the most prestigious F1A class.
Before him, only the legendary Ukrainian athlete Viktor STAMOV had managed to accomplish this twice — in 1997 and 2013. Since then, Ukrainian aeromodelers had gone over a decade without winning medals in this discipline.
Based on the championship results, Oleksii KOSYLO also fulfilled the requirements for the Master of Sports of Ukraine, International Class title, confirming his status as one of Europe's top athletes.
The KhAI Rock Climbing Section made a traditional trip to the Denyshi rocks, located on the picturesque banks of the Teteriv River near Zhytomyr. The granite cliffs, reaching up to 25 meters in height, provided a wonderful setting for training, outdoor recreation, and socializing.
This time, nearly 30 participants joined the trip — KhAI students, staff, alumni, and members of the children's climbing section.
Ihor Yevarnytskyi, Senior Lecturer at the KhAI Department of Physical Education, Sport and Rehabilitation, shares how the trip went: "The atmosphere was so friendly that some of our friends traveled all the way from Germany just to join us! The youngest participant was only three years old, so it's safe to say that love for mountains and rocks knows no age limits. We managed to do so much over these days. Each day began at seven in the morning with exercises and a 3.5-kilometer run. That was followed by hours of climbing natural routes, rappelling down cliffs on fixed ropes, and swinging on a massive 25-meter swing."
There was plenty of leisure time as well: swimming in the cool waters of the Teteriv, crafting five Finnish log candles by hand to roast marshmallows over, and playing nearly a dozen board games in the evening.
And, of course, following tradition, we generously fed the local mosquitoes — it seems no summer outdoor trip is complete without that.
Trips like this are not just about training on natural terrain, but also a wonderful opportunity to spend time together, make new friends, recharge with positive energy, and once again prove that the KhAI Rock Climbing Section is one big, tight-knit family. Onward to new adventures!
The team from the KhAI Laboratory of Student Technical Creativity (LTTS) continues its successful performance in the international sports season. After competing in the World Cup stage in Wierzawice, Poland, our athletes headed to Slovakia, where another World Cup stage in aeromodeling sport took place last weekend.
LTTS KhAI representative Mykola TKACHUK once again stepped onto the winners' podium, reaffirming his high level of training and consistent performances on the international stage. Stanislav DZIUBA is also demonstrating noticeable progress, improving his results from contest to contest and gaining invaluable experience competing internationally.
A special highlight of these competitions was the international debut of Mykola TKACHUK's younger sister, Nika. For the young athlete, these were her first international competitions, and they concluded with her first award. Symbolically, the name Nika translates from Ancient Greek as "victory" — and she earned her first international victory on her very first start.
Another piece of pleasant news was the Ukrainian team's invitation to Azerbaijan to participate in an aeromodeling festival, where our athletes will conduct demonstration flights and represent the Ukrainian school of aeromodeling.
Participating in international competitions is an important element of the KhAI Laboratory of Student Technical Creativity's activities. It provides an opportunity not only to showcase athletic skill, but also to promote technical creativity, represent KhAI and Ukraine on the global stage, and inspire young people to choose the path of engineering and aviation.

Diana SHULIAK (Group 717), a student at the KhAI Faculty of Humanities and Law, performed successfully at the Ukrainian Freestyle Wrestling Championship among adults, winning a bronze medal and fulfilling the standard for Master of Sports of Ukraine.
The competitions took place in June in Khmelnytskyi, bringing together about 250 of the strongest athletes from 21 regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv. This championship determined the country's top wrestlers and selected the reserve for Ukraine's national team.
Diana competed in the up to 76 kg weight category, where 10 athletes contested for medals. Following intense bouts, she secured 3rd place, a result that earned her the title of Master of Sports of Ukraine.
Among those who continue to enhance KhAI's athletic glory today is first-year student of Faculty 6, Arsen DZHURTUBAIEV (group 611p).
Arsen has been practicing powerlifting for nearly two years and has been successfully competing for about a year. Another confirmation of his athletic skill was his victory at the Eastern Ukrainian Powerlifting Championship (WPF KRAWA), which took place on June 7 in Kharkiv. In the under-125 kg weight category, he won first place with a total result of 602.5 kg across three exercises. Additionally, the athlete took third place in the championship's overall standings.
Among Arsen's athletic achievements:
- 1st place in the under-125 kg weight category at the Ukrainian Powerlifting Championship (WPF KRAWA, December 21, 2025) with a total result of 595 kg across three exercises;
- 1st place in the under-125 kg weight category and 3rd place in the overall standings at the Eastern Ukrainian Powerlifting Championship (WPF KRAWA, Kharkiv, June 7, 2026) with a total result of 602.5 kg across three exercises;
- Candidate for Master of Sports in powerlifting (WPF KRAWA).
Ahead lie new goals and new challenges. One of the main athletic goals Arsen has set for himself is establishing an absolute Ukrainian record in the deadlift among athletes aged 18–19.
Recently, young KhAI rock climbers took part in competitions in Kyiv and Kharkiv, returning home with awards.
In the capital, the 4th "Indie Go" children's climbing competition took place, bringing together participants from across Ukraine. The tournament winner was Artem HOHENKO, a student of the KhAI climbing wall and a multiple-time medalist and champion, who secured first place and once again proved his skill.
Our athletes performed equally successfully at the Kharkiv competitions. Yelisiei BIELIAKOVSKYI earned a gold award, taking first place, while Mykola BILYI became a bronze medalist, stepping onto the third tier of the podium.
We warmly congratulate the young athletes on their wonderful performance! These awards are the result of persistent training, self-belief, and love for sports.
Special congratulations to the parents of the young champions and their mentor — Ihor YEVARNYTSKYI, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Physical Education, Sport and Rehabilitation and Head of the KhAI Rock Climbing Section, who helps his students conquer new heights and confidently move toward athletic achievements.
From June 3 to 7, 2026, the Ukrainian Mountain Tourism Championship "DENESHY-2026" took place near Zhytomyr. The competition was held in several technical classes and gathered the strongest athletes from all over the country.
In the most technically complex class, Daria RYZHENKO, a member of the KhAI Tourism Club and Master of Sports of Ukraine, performed brilliantly, winning first place in the overall standings.
Based on the competition results, Daria earned:
- 1st place on the "Rescue Technical Techniques" course;
- 3rd place on the "Tactical and Technical Course".
The athlete's coach is Anton HRYHOROVYCH, Master of Sports of Ukraine and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Automobiles and Transport Infrastructure (107).
The Ukrainian Mountain Tourism Championship launched at the "Deneshy" rock formation in Zhytomyr Region — one of the main events of the season for athletes nationwide.
Although the competition has just begun, pleasant news has already arrived for the Kharkiv sports tourism school.
Daria RYZHENKO, a member of the KhAI Tourism Club and Master of Sports of Ukraine, took second place in the "Best Female Mountain Tourism Athlete of 2025" category.
This is high recognition of years of dedicated hard work, athletic skill, and devotion to her beloved sport.
At the end of May, the Open Speed Climbing Championship of Youth Sports School KIPT for children born between 2008 and 2019 took place at the Youth Sports School KIPT facility in Pyatykhatky.
Participants demonstrated strength, agility, endurance, and true athletic spirit. Members of the KhAI Children's Rock Climbing Section proudly represented the university and earned top places:
- YELISIEI BIELIAKOVSKYI — 1st place
- ARTEM HOHENKO — 2nd place
The Final Four of the All-Ukrainian Youth Basketball League (VUBL) Championship for girls born in 2012 concluded in Kyiv, where the "Kharkiv Region Team-KhAI-KDYUSSH No. 2" won national bronze medals.
In the third-place match, our basketball players confidently defeated the capital's DYUSSH-3-"Budivelnyk" — 74:55.
Varvara KIRSANOVA became the true heroine of the game, delivering a fantastic performance:
- 43 points
- 10 rebounds
- 5 assists
- 7 steals
Yeva KOZYR also played a powerful match, recording a double-double:
- 19 points
- 14 rebounds
The successful performance of the KhAI team was also recognized with individual awards.
Based on the season's results, Varvara KIRSANOVA was named to the All-Tournament Team of the Ukrainian VUBL Championship for girls born in 2012.
During the official award ceremony, the KhAI players also received special honors.
Neli KARAPETIAN was awarded the "Heart of the Team" honor — a symbol of leadership, support, and team spirit.
Yeva KOZYR received the "Best Player of the Team" and "Wildcard of the Final" awards.
Additionally, Varvara KIRSANOVA received a certificate for free participation in the MOBI Summer Camp 2026, which will take place in Transcarpathia during the summer.
Kharkiv hosted the children's climbing festival Spring Boulder Fest, which brought together the city's youngest athletes — those who are just beginning their path in sports but are already demonstrating character, endurance, and a drive to win.
Among the best were members of the KhAI Rock Climbing Section operating under the Department of Physical Education, Sport and Rehabilitation (802).
Under the guidance of Senior Lecturer IHOR YEVARNYTSKYI, the young athletes proved once again that KhAI knows how to raise not only future engineers and scientists, but true champions as well.

- D'IACHKOVA Kira — 2nd place;
- BIELIAKOVSKYI Yelisiei — 3rd place.
Meet Liudmyla MAMICHEVA, a student of group 443 at the Department of Higher Mathematics and System Analysis.
While some people still picture mathematicians as living solely among formulas, notebooks, and endless calculations, Liudmyla confidently shatters all stereotypes: precision can combine with character, an analytical mind with iron endurance, and strength can be not only intellectual, but entirely athletic!
Liudmyla actively competes in powerlifting within the WPF KRAWA federation and already holds impressive achievements:
- 1st place in the "Bench Press" discipline;
- Result — 67.5 kg in the under-75 kg weight category;
- Officially fulfilled the standard and earned the "Candidate for Master of Sports" title in WPF KRAWA.
Group 338 student Karyna BILOUS became a two-time Ukrainian sumo champion!
At the Ukrainian Sumo Championship held on May 3–6, 2026, in Bila Tserkva, our student won two gold medals at once — in the under-21 and under-23 age categories.
The large-scale competition brought together the country's strongest athletes, from youth to adults. Among them, Karyna proved once again that KhAI is home to strong people.
Karyna is one of those students who manages to balance studying while reaching athletic peaks. Her success is a story of harmony between strength of spirit and strength of body: the former keeps you from giving up, while the latter allows you to win.

The European Sambo Championships for Youth and Juniors took place in Novi Sad, Serbia.
KhAI first-year student Anastasiia SHLOMKA (group 318) won a bronze medal among junior women in the under-54 kg weight category!
In Kyiv, at the "Avangard" Sports Complex court, the XXXV Ukrainian Women's Basketball Championship concluded with the Final Four. Congratulations to the medalists on their well-deserved awards — this season truly determined the strongest.
For the BC "KhAI" women's team, this championship did not yield a medal finish. A step away from the final four was halted by unfortunate, sometimes childish mistakes that negatively impacted their tournament standings. But there are things more important than numbers in a table — and those are precisely what define a real team.
This was a season of growth.
A season of fighting until the final second.
A season in which the young players learned to win, even while overcoming losses.

Kyrylo Kryvoruchko, a student of group 717pd, achieved a brilliant victory on the international stage by winning a gold medal at the World Championship in Italy.
Competing in the junior category (16–17 years old), under-75 kg weight category in the "grappling" discipline, Kyrylo demonstrated exceptional skill, cool concentration, and a true will to win.
In the final match against the tournament host — an Italian fighter — Kyrylo endured an intense standoff and decisively sealed the victory: he forced his opponent to submit following a masterfully executed submission hold. Pure technique. Iron character. An early victory.
The competition was held under the patronage of leading international and national organizations, including the World Horting Federation (WHF), W3FC, and the Italian sports association ASI. The tournament brought together hundreds of strong fighters from Europe, Asia, and other parts of the world.
It is worth noting: horting is a modern Ukrainian martial art that combines wrestling, self-defense, and combat sport. Today, it is confidently asserting itself on the global stage.
This championship was one of the key events of the year in this sport, and Kyrylo's victory is not only a personal triumph, but also a significant contribution to Ukraine's sporting reputation.
On April 17–19, 2026, the Ukrainian Sambo Championship for Higher Education Students took place in the city of Dnipro. The strongest students from all regions of the country participated in the competition, demonstrating a high level of preparation and true athletic spirit.
The national team of National Aerospace University "KhAI" proudly represented the university and won five medals:
- 1 gold,
- 1 silver,
- 3 bronze awards.

The Kharkiv Region–KhAI–KDYUSSH No. 2 team spectacularly completed the first stage of the Ukrainian Championship in the All-Ukrainian Youth Basketball League for girls born in 2014.
The final stage matches took place in the city of Bar, Vinnytsia Region, where our athletes demonstrated undisputed leadership.
A flawless result!
Team KhAI:
- won 9 out of 9 matches;
- suffered zero losses;
- confidently took 1st place in the standings.
In the final round, the Kharkiv players only reaffirmed their strength:
- 77:19 — against the team from Odesa;
- 67:26 — against the Kirovohrad Region team;
- 90:47 — against the hosts of the court.
Varvara Kirsanova was named the team's best player following the results of the stage, having made a significant contribution to the winning outcome.
Ahead lies the decisive stage of the competition. The strongest teams have advanced to the "Final Four," including our KhAI team. The games will take place on May 1–2 in Ivano-Frankivsk.
